In Response to Lens Artists Challenge #235 ~Monochrome Shadows & Reflections ~ Revelations in Shadows & Reflections ~

There is no light without shadow, just as there is no happiness without pain.
Isabel Allende

Visible is the Unseen when the heart is true.

One night , feeling heavy at heart , I was trying to concentrate on composing a poem. Suddenly a voice in my heart said, “Pull the curtain and look outside “. I responded and saw the moon full bright and large throwing powerful light all over the night sky Then as I watched I saw three straight lines slowly rise and pass across the moon.It was an amazing sight. I felt peaceful and comforted.

On a bright sunny morning my son and I went for a brief visit up the nearby hill in the outskirts of the capital city Islamabad. I sat on the low stone wall to gather my energy and look around. Suddenly I saw my shadow right in front and quickly with a smile to myself, I captured the moment. I believe the result I share here for my Lens Artist Friends and Readers does have some value.

When I read this weeks challenge I knew I had some shots to make an album.
This moment was saved when Captain , my daughter’s pet parrot, by chance and time forced to stay with us due to Covid Lockdown was found nibbling on peanuts quite late in the night. He had come to stay for a couple of weeks but stayed on for more than six. Alhamdolilah he was returned safe and sound and healthy.

A favourite field for me for photography is the sky, day or night. An evening, at dusk, reflected strange cloud shapes. By the time I clicked the camera the lights were on.A combination of natural and artificial light produced a rare scene.

Living in a rural area one is fortunate to view Allah ‘s Earth’s landscape and His gems of creations in boundless space.

Yes it is the moon again. Setting in the West this time. nature is amazing at different places at different hours. I enjoyed compiling these images. There are moments which become unforgettable when the camera records the reflections.

The poet writes

Ye raatein, ye mausam, ye hansna, hasaana
Mujhe bhool jana , inhein na bhulana , bhulana

Translation from Urdu to English

These nights this weather, this laughter
you can forget me, but please remember them

I must admit I’m glad you listened to that small still voice to go outside of yourself. Look at your photos. They are magical.

Beautiful images and thoughts AWD, so nice to see your entry this week. I absolutely loved the closing poem – is it yours???? Also loved the image where the moon and the streetlight are aligned. Marvelous!
